Unagi Kabayaki

Do you know "unagi"? "unagi" means "freshwater eels" in Japanese.
"kabayaki" is the preparation style.

I made easy "Una-don ".

You can just pop the "unagi kabayaki pack" into the microwave oven for about 2-3 minutes. Sprinkle sesame seeds on the rice. Put the unagi kabayaki on top.

I bought a unagi kabayak from Taiwan. It was one pack for $5. That was pretty good! Next time I will buy the expensive one from Japan and compare them.

Ah~~ I miss "Unajyuu".

  2. Uh oh! I bought Unagi from Marukai on sale for 2.50 a few months back, maybe even last summer... it's been in my freezer but I haven't known how to eat it. I guess now that I know I can make up some nice Unagi-don! Great blog! I love food and art :)

  3. I love this dish mostly because it is fun to say!

I also think that it is important to purchase fish from a very reputable source. I would never eat anything I bought from a guy selling out of the back of his Pontiac station wagon. Only certified sea food should be consumed. So far, we have grown to trust the quality and safety of the food at Nijiya and Mitsuwa markets.
